So here you are wondering what all this is about?

I'm Justin Bartholomew and I've created this site as a kind of mini social network for the poker enthusiasts of the Isle of Wight.

Why?

Well having lived in Dublin for the last year or so I have to say that although I don't entirely miss the Island, I do miss the weekly homebased poker tournaments I used to play in with a bunch of local Island thugs (You know who you are). So it got me to thinking why not have the weekly tournament online? Sounds like a great craic to me!

But the more I thought about it the more I thought why not make it open to all patriots of the Isle of Wight?

Why not create an online community for all those Isle of Wight poker fans to get to know one and other and more to the point let them battle it out to see whose the best!?

So whats the plan? Well I'm going to roll out the first tournament exclusively to those of us whose roots lie on the Island and see how it goes. If things go well then I'll create the framework for an Isle of Wight Poker League to set into motion the discovery of the real Online Isle of Wight Poker Champion of 2009!
